Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyze financial data and reports from various systems to confirm results, detect discrepancies, and ensure precise accounting.

• Oversee the revenue recognition process, which includes reviewing contracts, performance obligations, and intricate multi-element arrangements in line with ASC 606.

• Prepare and examine journal entries and financial statements as part of the monthly closing procedures.

• Assess the accounting implications of new products and services and establish suitable revenue recognition processes.

• Maintain robust internal controls and ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and relevant accounting standards.

• Manage external audits and assist in the preparation of audited financial statements.

• Identify opportunities to enhance, streamline, and automate accounting processes and reporting.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement scalable accounting solutions, systems, and procedures.

• Stay updated on accounting standards and counsel management on pertinent changes and actions.

• Support the growth of accounting team members and foster effective collaboration throughout the organization.

• Uphold confidentiality and comply with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

• Four years of experience in either public or private accounting.

• Comprehensive understanding and experience with ASC 606, including multi-element contracts and performance obligations.

• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition principles.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced in working with financial/accounting systems and large datasets.

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities to identify errors, investigate discrepancies, and evaluate the reasonableness of financial outcomes.

• Capability to manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, and ensure follow-through.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to convey complex financial concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

• Intellectual curiosity and a drive to refine and simplify processes.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to utilize technology, automation, and AI tools to enhance accounting processes and analyses.

• CPA certification or progress towards CPA certification is preferred.

• Experience in revenue recognition or technical accounting is preferred.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce, Tableau, or similar systems is preferred.
