Accounting Co-op

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage bookkeeping for various public and private clients across Canada and the US, encompassing accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank transactions, reconciliations, GST filings, and journal entries.

• Keep well-organized electronic records of invoices and statements.

• Process foreign exchange transactions.

• Assist in preparing documents for client audits.

• Compile working papers for financial statement components.

• Provide support for diverse projects and administrative tasks as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting is currently in progress.

• Must be enrolled in a recognized institutional co-op program.

• Proficient in formatting documents using Microsoft Word.

• Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to perform under deadline pressure.

• Enthusiasm for challenging tasks and for enhancing accounting skills.

• Willingness to adopt new technologies.

• Highly detail-oriented and meticulous.

• Interest in pursuing a CPA designation.

• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or an individual granted refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

• Submission of a resume is required.

• An official or unofficial transcript must be attached to the resume as a single document.

• Previous experience in accounting or bookkeeping is advantageous.

• Experience in customer service or client service is a plus.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks and Sage 50 is a bonus.
