
Accounting and Finance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of and implement the monthly closing activities, which include journal entries, account reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements.
• Ensure accurate financial records are maintained in line with accrual accounting standards.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, client invoicing, and the collections process.
• Manage payroll processing along with associated accounting tasks and reconciliations.
• Keep track of cash balances and develop short-term cash flow forecasts.
• Generate timely financial statements, management reports, and budget-to-actual comparisons for the leadership team.
• Draft initial versions of annual budgets and periodic reforecasts.
• Assist in the analysis of financial performance and significant business trends.
• Report on financial outcomes at both company and project levels, including metrics such as revenue, profitability, cash flow, and receivables.
• Collaborate with external tax consultants, auditors, banking partners, and other specialized financial experts.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, processes, procedures, and internal controls.
• Enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of finance processes and systems.
• Relay accounting priorities, deadlines, outstanding items, risks, and financial insights to the leadership team.
• Partner closely with company leadership to ensure financial operations are conducted accurately, efficiently, and predictably.
• A minimum of 5 years of practical accounting experience, with direct responsibility for month-end closures and financial statement preparation.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and accrual-basis accounting.
• Proficient in general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting and financial software.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with a proven track record of managing recurring tasks and deadlines independently.
• Ability to take full ownership of tasks from start to finish, proactively recognizing issues and driving them to resolution.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to effectively convey status updates, priorities, inquiries, and risks.
• Capability to work autonomously in a remote setting.

• Preferred: experience in professional services, consulting, or government contracting sectors.
• Preferred: familiarity with project-based accounting and Time and Materials/Firm Fixed Price contracts.
• Preferred: experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Preferred: experience in cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting.
• Preferred: experience collaborating with external tax advisors, auditors, or other specialized accounting professionals.
