Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute accounting tasks using QuickBooks Online and other relevant platforms

• Assess the impact of accounting transactions under both accrual and cash basis

• Draft initial versions of monthly financial statements

• Oversee the month-end closing procedures

• Maintain detailed supporting schedules for the balance sheet, including prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, fixed asset schedules, and payroll liability reconciliations

• Prepare and document month-end journal entries

• Manage complete accounts receivable and accounts payable processes

• Prepare and review payroll processes

• Prepare and assess sales tax submissions

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients

• Evaluate team members’ work and assist the Controller in mentoring and training less experienced staff

• Implement new technology integrations and resolve any issues

• Collaborate with vendors and platforms to ensure smooth accounting operations

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting

• Experience managing over 5 clients or entities across diverse industries

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline, or bookkeeping certification

• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online

• In-depth knowledge of accrual accounting, consolidated financial statements, revenue recognition, and month-end closing processes

• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make independent judgments

• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deliver projects within designated timelines

• Comfortable engaging with clients

• Skilled in utilizing tools and technology for collaboration with remote team members

• Must reside in a state where the company operates: Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, or Minnesota
