Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute accounting tasks using QuickBooks Online and various other platforms.

• Assess the impact of accounting transactions under both accrual and cash basis accounting methods.

• Draft preliminary versions of monthly financial statements.

• Oversee the month-end closing procedure.

• Maintain supporting schedules for the balance sheet, which include prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, fixed asset schedules, and reconciliations for payroll liabilities.

• Prepare and record journal entries for month-end closing.

• Handle complete accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.

• Prepare and evaluate payroll information.

• Prepare and assess sales tax documentation.

• Act as the main point of contact for clients.

• Review the work of team members and assist the Controller in mentoring and training junior staff.

• Establish new technology integrations and address any issues that arise.

• Collaborate with vendors and platforms to facilitate accounting operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.

• Experience managing more than 5 clients/entities across diverse industries.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or a bookkeeping certification.

• Expertise in QuickBooks Online.

• Proficient in accrual accounting, consolidated financial statements, revenue recognition, and month-end closing processes.

• Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to exercise independent judgment.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and complete projects within designated timelines.

• Comfortable engaging with clients.

• Proficient in using tools and technology to collaborate effectively with remote team members.

• Must be a resident of Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, or Minnesota.
