This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Acquire new clients specifically in commercial, state, and local markets.
• Achieve and surpass sales targets for the assigned region.
• Promote and sell Blackboard's range of products and services utilizing a consultative sales methodology.
• Manage intricate enterprise solution sales with purchasing cycles ranging from 6 to 18 months.
• Navigate sales through the complete sales process.
• Actively engage in the RFP process.
• Maintain the customer relationship with support from a Customer Success Manager.
• Regularly prospect, identify client needs and objectives, and align suitable Blackboard offerings.
• Target and secure greenfield accounts.
• Develop and execute a market development strategy for the assigned territory.
• Manage relationships with Blackboard partners, including systems integrators and small enterprises.
• Stay updated on industry trends within the commercial, state, and local training and development sectors.
• Utilize Salesforce and other sales tools to log sales data.
• Prepare written presentations, reports, and pricing proposals.
• Attend and contribute to sales meetings, product seminars, and trade exhibitions.
• Lead the sales process, encompassing channel activities and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with GSA and similar contract vehicles.
• Leverage Blackboard human capital at the appropriate stages in the sales cycle.
• Define, maintain, and implement a sales strategy.
• Build relationships with Sales, Marketing, Product Support, Consulting Services, Channel, Finance, Engineering, and other departments.
• Travel approximately 50% of the time.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in direct, complex solution software sales, preferably within State and Local government markets.
• Expertise in prospecting and developing greenfield opportunities.
• Demonstrated success in building a sales pipeline and advancing opportunities through the sales cycle.
• Experience in proposing, presenting, and discussing solutions with key decision-makers.
• Skilled in leveraging channel partners and other collaborators to fulfill prospect functionality and procurement needs.
• Ability to design solutions with the appropriate products and services that align with client business objectives based on discussions.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with the eLearning, training, and education sectors.
• Willingness to engage in market development initiatives.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
• Required to maintain work authorization throughout the duration of employment.
