This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Build and nurture robust relationships with key officials from the state Department of Education.
• Act as the main liaison between Lexia’s Sales and Government Relations teams and state education agencies.
• Formulate a strategy for conferences and represent Lexia at both state and national conferences as well as partner events.
• Advise state leaders involved in literacy initiatives.
• Create and implement a detailed territory plan that aligns with Lexia’s strategic objectives and the specific needs of each state.
• Lead the complete sales cycle for opportunities at the state level, including planning, presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations.
• Deliver engaging in-person and virtual presentations that convey Lexia’s value proposition and evidence-based solutions.
• Keep accurate records of contacts, activities, and opportunities in Salesforce and provide reliable forecasting estimates.
• Identify and engage with high-potential state leaders to cultivate a pipeline of opportunities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure internal deliverables meet customer expectations.
• Work in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Government Relations on messaging, campaigns, and strategic initiatives.
• Analyze state data, trends, and policy landscapes to guide outreach and sales strategies.
• Offer market insights and forecasts.
• Bachelor’s Degree is required; an advanced degree in Education, Policy, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in state-level education agencies, sales, policy, or leadership roles is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of state education policy, funding mechanisms, and governmental operations.
• Proven track record in sales, especially in navigating complex sales cycles and securing education-related contracts at the state level.
• Strong organizational, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment with confidence.
• Proficient in Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual collaboration tools.
• Willingness to travel extensively while maintaining high productivity through virtual engagement.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Must have a reliable internet connection through cable or fiber-optic broadband with minimum speeds of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload while working remotely.
• Active participation in video-based interviews and ongoing virtual meetings with the camera on is required.
• It is essential not to use note-taking tools, reference materials, or AI-based tools during interviews or other selection processes unless prior written approval is obtained.
