Academic Communities Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +19 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist the academic community of marketers associated with the American Marketing Association.

• Provide administrative assistance to the Academic Communities team.

• Organize events driven by the community.

• Support volunteer leaders in their initiatives.

• Cultivate a sense of belonging, fellowship, and camaraderie among academics.

• Maintain and oversee Special Interest Group (SIG) webpages.

• Aid in the management of SIG budgets and finances, including payments, reimbursements, and invoices.

• Assist in the planning and logistics for conferences such as the 2027 Winter Academic, Virtual Winter Academic, Summer Academic, and Marketing and Public Policy conferences.

• Address attendee inquiries alongside the Manager of Academic Communities and the Customer Support team.

• Help implement the Conference and SIG awards processes.

• Support the Senior Copy Editor with the administration of conference proceedings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess a high school diploma.

• Currently enrolled at a 2-year or 4-year college/university.

• Experience in customer service or volunteer management is preferred.

• Interest in event management, volunteer management, or association management.

• Proficient in Google Suite.

• Strong attention to detail is essential.

• Ability to work remotely for 24 hours each week.

• Residency is required in AL, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, LA, MA, MI, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, or WI.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

• F-1 visas are acceptable for internships.
