This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Recognize key YouTube content opportunities and establish channel positioning.
• Create playlist strategies and assess audience awareness levels.
• Prioritize topics that align with client business objectives and suggest content sequencing.
• Develop engaging titles, hooks, and thumbnail text prior to scriptwriting.
• Compose 7–12 minute YouTube outlines and scripts that capture attention quickly, sustain curiosity, simplify complex medical subjects, and have a conversational tone.
• Investigate medical literature, competing videos, patient terminology, market awareness, common objections, search intent, and healthcare trends.
• Facilitate strategy discussions with doctors, surgeons, dentists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Conduct client interviews, challenge assumptions, extract narratives, refine positioning, and secure agreement on channel direction.
• Mentor clients to enhance their content decisions and build confidence on camera.
• Analyze video performance, recognize trends, refine future topics and packaging, and enhance retention and scripts based on viewer engagement.
• Extensive experience in working with, writing about, or communicating complex health topics.
• Proficient understanding of medical terminology, conventional and alternative health viewpoints, patient concerns, and accurate evidence-based communication.
• Background in healthcare marketing, medical or scientific writing, clinical or health-practitioner roles, patient education, health-expert ghostwriting, medical communications, healthcare journalism, or similar fields.
• Experience interviewing subject matter experts and collaborating with physicians, practices, or healthcare brands.
• Exceptional conversational writing that feels natural when spoken and adapts to diverse client personalities and speaking styles.
• Strong strategic and editorial insight; capable of evaluating topics, angles, promises, and positioning.
• Keen instincts for audience and packaging, including understanding viewer awareness, titles, thumbnails, hooks, and content alignment.
• Skills in retention and storytelling, including curiosity gaps, open loops, escalating stakes, pacing, tension, pattern interruptions, delayed reveals, and payoffs.
• Ability to articulate complex subjects clearly and conversationally without inaccuracies.
• Responsible research and thorough interviewing capabilities.
• Proficiency in AI for research, ideation, organization, and drafts while maintaining editorial oversight.
• Capability to identify and eliminate weak AI-generated writing.
• Strong editing proficiency.
• Client-facing communication skills and the ability to lead discussions with health professionals, clarify strategic decisions, respond to feedback, and assertively push back when necessary.
• Comprehensive knowledge of YouTube packaging, viewer psychology, retention, audience expectations, and educational content.
• Experience in developing YouTube content strategies, playlists, titles, and thumbnail concepts.
• Familiarity with reviewing channel analytics and leveraging performance data to enhance content.
• Understanding of direct-response principles and preferred experience with direct-response copywriting, funnels, or VSLs.
• Relevant experience in storytelling, documentary writing, podcast production, educational content, content marketing, or behavioral psychology.
• Experienced-level candidate.
