This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Identify trends that hinder students' academic achievement.
• Engage in targeted outreach and offer instruction to both groups and individuals.
• Mentor and educate students utilizing university and departmental procedures and resources.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and weekly tasks.
• Address student inquiries and concerns regarding course material and assignments promptly.
• Facilitate learning through various means such as posts/announcements, emails, occasional one-on-one virtual meetings, and videos.
• Regularly communicate with students about their participation and performance.
• Implement class-wide, group-wide, and individual outreach strategies based on student trends and requirements.
• Develop authentic relationships through consistent communication across approved channels.
• Respond consistently and promptly to students who engage with targeted outreach efforts.
• Keep track of communication histories and significant student interactions, planning follow-ups as necessary.
• Participate in occasional training sessions and meetings.
• Utilize training and evaluation feedback to enhance performance.
• Note that lesson development and grading are managed by a centralized team of qualified graders.
• Must currently reside in and be authorized to work in Brazil.
• Fluency in both English and Portuguese is required.
• The application must be submitted in English.
• A Master's degree or higher in Portuguese language (Letras) or a related field such as Journalism, Linguistics, or Technical Writing is required.
• A completed bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement; in-progress transcripts and associate-level/technólogo degrees are not acceptable.
• Academic credentials must be officially recognized in Brazil and in the country of origin.
• Ability to adapt to new processes, procedures, and technologies is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; must be professional, respectful, and impartial in sensitive situations.
• Proven reliability and capability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision are necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, video conferencing tools, and discipline-specific software is required.
• Experience in online teaching/learning, particularly with at-risk learners, is preferred.
• Professional experience in online and/or classroom teaching or a closely related field is desired.
• Availability of 10–12 hours per week and the ability to work at least 5 days each week is required.
• Attendance at periodic team meetings is mandatory.
