This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Review, format, and conduct quality checks on Safety Basis documents, which include Documented Safety Analyses (DSAs), Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs), Hazard Analyses along with supporting calculations, Safety Evaluation Reports, and change packages.
• Ensure that all documents adhere to relevant DOE orders, standards, and site-specific requirements, including DOE O 420.1 and 10 CFR 830.
• Enhance the clarity, organization, and consistency of complex technical materials without compromising the technical intent.
• Implement and uphold document standards, templates, style guides, and configuration management requirements.
• Collaborate with authors, engineers, and nuclear safety analysts to address comments and elevate document quality.
• Assist in internal reviews, audits, and readiness activities by preparing documents for approval and submission.
• Monitor revisions, manage the resolution of comments, and maintain version control.
• Generally requires a bachelor's or master's degree in English, journalism, technical communication, or a physical/social science, along with 6-8 years of professional experience.
• Proven experience in editing technical or regulatory documentation.
• Strong understanding of grammar, technical style, and document structure.
• Experience engaging with subject matter experts (SMEs) in highly regulated settings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and document control tools.
• Preferred experience in editing DOE Safety Basis documents (DSA, TSR, USQ-related documentation).
• Preference for familiarity with configuration management and formal document review processes.
• Active DOE clearance or eligibility to obtain one is preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail is a must.
• Capability to manage multiple documents and deadlines concurrently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Comfort in a highly regulated, compliance-oriented environment.
• Ability to rapidly assimilate complex technical content.
• US citizenship is required.
