This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Create compelling and compliant RFP responses and grant applications for county behavioral health initiatives throughout California.
• Oversee the complete proposal development process, including tracking requirements, coordinating reviewers, managing version control, and conducting final readiness assessments.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, clinical teams, finance departments, and regional administrators.
• Clearly articulate program models, staffing approaches, service outcomes, and community partnerships.
• Collect programmatic, operational, and financial information from internal teams.
• Review narratives for compliance with RFPs, amendments, Q&A releases, and scoring criteria.
• Develop competitive proposals for wraparound, inpatient, outpatient, school-based, and community behavioral health services.
• Utilize and modify existing proposal frameworks to satisfy stringent funder requirements.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in public health, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• A demonstrated history of successfully developing government proposals and RFP responses.
• Strong project management abilities for comprehensive proposal development.
• Preferred experience in drafting proposals for behavioral health and mental health programs based in California.
• Outstanding writing, editing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Capability to produce clear and persuasive content under tight deadlines while juggling multiple priorities, draft iterations, and stakeholder feedback.
• Proficient in gathering programmatic, operational, and financial data.
• Commitment to strict adherence to funder requirements.
• Experience in auditing narratives against RFPs, amendments, Q&A releases, and scoring rubrics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and collaborative document review processes.
• Practical expertise in utilizing AI-supported proposal tools.
• Ability to verify, customize, and align AI-generated content while protecting sensitive organizational and client information.
• Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of the specified degree.
