This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
β’ Conduct telemedicine consultations and perform initial assessments of wounds, determining diagnoses, wound etiology, and care plans.
β’ Evaluate wound photographs, measurements, and ongoing documentation to monitor healing progress and modify treatment strategies.
β’ Oversee the selection of dressings, offloading techniques, compression strategies, debridement plans, and infection management, including antibiotic stewardship.
β’ Assess eligibility for advanced modalities and cellular/tissue-based products.
β’ Record medical necessity in alignment with payer coverage requirements.
β’ Provide supervision and clinical guidance to Nurse Practitioners conducting in-home wound evaluations.
β’ Ensure the quality and consistency of care delivery.
β’ Recognize wounds that necessitate escalation and facilitate referrals for vascular, surgical, or higher-level care.
β’ Complete medical records accurately and punctually.
β’ Uphold clinical governance standards.
β’ Promote a compassionate, patient-centered environment.
β’ Must be a licensed Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a permanent, active, unrestricted license from the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners.
β’ Actively practicing within the geographic limits of South Carolina is required.
β’ Must possess a permanent, active, unrestricted license from the North Carolina Medical Board.
β’ Credentialing with North Carolina payors, including Medicare, NC Medicaid, and contracted commercial plans, is necessary, or the willingness to complete this process.
β’ Must have a clean credentialing history, free from payor sanctions, exclusions, or unresolved malpractice issues.
β’ Clinical experience in managing wound care is essential.
β’ Certification from the American Board of Wound Management (CWSP) or an equivalent certification is highly preferred.
β’ Experience in supervising or collaborating with advanced practice providers is a plus.
β’ Must be comfortable using telehealth platforms and performing photo-based wound assessments.
β’ Availability for patient consultations and provider oversight between 8 am and 6 pm is required.
