Workers Compensation Trial Attorney, Senior Trial Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Manage all aspects of Workers' Compensation litigation from initial assessment to final resolution.

• Collaborate with claims professionals to formulate case strategies.

• Perform discovery activities.

• Negotiate settlement agreements.

• Attend hearings.

• Advocate for clients throughout the entirety of the litigation process.

• Senior-level attorneys guide colleagues and act as technical resources for complex issues.

• Trial attorneys handle significant and intricate Workers' Compensation cases for Zurich North America, a global leader in insurance and risk management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree.

• Trial Attorney: Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience.

• Senior Trial Attorney: Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience.

• Must be a member in good standing with the California State Bar.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe.

• Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Lexis, Westlaw, or equivalents.

• Understanding of the insurance industry, claims environment, insurance defense litigation, and legal procedures.

• Senior Trial Attorney: Capability to independently manage more intricate litigation cases and provide technical support.

• Preferred: Experience in Workers' Compensation defense.

• Preferred: Strong communication and negotiation skills.

• Preferred: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Preferred: Ability to handle a caseload independently.

• Preferred: Experience in a collaborative team setting.

• Preferred: Experience with trials, hearings, mediations, and settlements.

• Senior preferred: Experience managing moderate to high-complexity cases, mentoring attorneys, and serving as a subject matter expert.
