This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
β’ Oversee the operations of various workers' compensation examination and technical staff teams.
β’ Assess colleagues' workloads and individual claim activities.
β’ Deliver training and provide technical/jurisdictional guidance on claims adjudication.
β’ Maintain claim diaries, including frequent updates on complex or high-exposure claims.
β’ Evaluate and process intricate or technically challenging general liability claims.
β’ Investigate and collect information to assess claim exposure.
β’ Manage claims through action plans to ensure timely resolutions.
β’ Oversee the litigation process for prompt and cost-effective outcomes.
β’ Coordinate vendor referrals for investigation and litigation management.
β’ Facilitate team meetings and assign accountability for follow-up actions.
β’ Compile compliance and claims-processing data for team discussions.
β’ Assist in interviewing adjusters and clerical staff, providing feedback to the hiring manager.
β’ Support the monthly assessment of adjuster workloads, identify patterns, and recommend adjustments.
β’ Implement company personnel policies while adhering to staffing and training standards.
β’ Conduct interviews, hire personnel, develop performance improvement plans, and engage in performance discussions.
β’ Offer support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to encourage peak performance.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
β’ High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
β’ A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
β’ Professional certification relevant to the line of business is preferred.
β’ Knowledge of CA jurisdiction and licensing.
β’ Capability to supervise multiple teams of examiners and technical staff.
β’ Proficiency in monitoring workloads and individual claim activities.
β’ Ability to provide training and technical/jurisdictional direction.
β’ Strong clear and conceptual thinking skills.
β’ Excellent judgment, troubleshooting skills, problem-solving abilities, analysis, and discretion.
β’ Capability to manage work-related stress and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
β’ Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
β’ Proficient in computer keyboarding.
β’ Must have hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills.
