Workers Comp Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of claims to assess compensability and liability.

• Execute investigations on claims to verify coverage and evaluate liability, compensability, and damages.

• Assess and potentially negotiate claim settlements and reserves within designated authority.

• Participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as required.

• Communicate details regarding coverage and settlements to insured parties, claimants, and external stakeholders.

• Approve payments within assigned authority limits, ensuring they are processed promptly.

• Maintain precise and comprehensive claim files, correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Moderate experience handling lost time claims, with a preference for California.

• SIP certification is preferred.

• At least 6 months of experience in property and casualty claims management.

• Completion of or ongoing progress towards a professional designation is preferred, such as Associate in Claims (AIC).

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

• Understanding of insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling processes.

• Familiarity with industry laws and regulations.

• Capability to organize and prioritize a caseload, ensuring claims are resolved in a timely manner.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to cultivate relationships and manage negotiations effectively.

• Capacity to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
