WMS Workflow Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Act as the architectural owner and design authority for Datex WMS workflows across various warehouses, clients, and implementations.

• Establish and uphold enterprise-wide WMS architecture, warehouse blueprints, workflow standards, integration patterns, and compliance frameworks.

• Validate and authorize WMS design modifications from both onshore and offshore teams.

• Lead, mentor, support, and manage WMS workflow developers, analysts, and QA testers.

• Assign priorities, oversee workloads, and ensure the timely delivery of enhancements, fixes, client onboarding tasks, and projects.

• Enhance team capabilities through training, playbooks, process maps, and reusable design components.

• Serve as an escalation point for configuration, design, integration, environment, incident, outage, and RCA issues.

• Ensure workflows adhere to DSCSA, cGMP/GDP, 21 CFR Part 11, audit trail, and e-signature requirements.

• Supervise validation strategies, including URS, FRS, IQ/OQ/PQ, traceability matrices, and controlled releases.

• Collaborate with Quality for regulatory, client audit, and compliance readiness.

• Design workflows for FEFO allocation, lot/batch/serial control, quarantine and release, temperature-controlled operations, controlled substances, billing, VAS, kitting, and custom pharmaceutical processes.

• Optimize RF flows, wave strategies, replenishment logic, bin strategies, and exception handling.

• Oversee integrations with ERP, TMS, carriers, automation, and serialization systems.

• Approve EDI/JSON/XML mappings and lead event-driven, API-based, or serverless integration architecture.

• Guide governance for item master, location master, client profiles, and regulatory attributes.

• Administer change control, release management, environment synchronization, and configuration versioning.

• Foster continuous improvement, defect reduction, process standardization, and operational KPI enhancement.

• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Customer Solutions, Client Onboarding, and leadership on requirements and scalable solutions.

• Support RFP responses, client onboarding, solution design sessions, and executive communication.

• Manage the department and supervise staff, including hiring, performance reviews, promotions, discipline, and other personnel actions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 7–10+ years of hands-on experience with Datex WMS in configuration, workflow design, and architecture.

• 5+ years in a leadership position overseeing onshore and offshore teams.

• Profound expertise in pharmaceutical distribution, including DSCSA traceability, cGMP/GDP, 21 CFR Part 11, audit trails, e-signatures, and cold chain/temperature-controlled workflows.

• Extensive experience in 3PL multi-client environments.

• Strong understanding of essential warehouse processes, including inbound, putaway, replenishment, picking methods, VAS, returns, QC, and cycle counting.

• Strong SQL Server experience, including queries, stored procedures, and debugging.

• Significant experience working within GxP validation frameworks, including URS/FRS, IQ/OQ/PQ, CAPA, and change control.

• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to translate between business, operations, and technical teams.

• Advanced certifications in supply chain or WMS technologies are a plus.

• Experience with Azure Functions or Node.js/TypeScript utilities is preferred.

• Experience with ERP systems and TMS/carrier integrations is preferred.

• Exposure to warehouse automation is preferred.

• Familiarity with serialization or regulatory platforms is preferred.

• Power BI/Tableau experience is preferred.

• Ability to work 40+ hours per week, Monday-Friday.
