Windows Systems Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee and sustain Windows Server environments through patching, updates, upgrades, and performance optimization.

• Offer after-hours on-call assistance and address system incidents and alerts to reduce service interruptions.

• Execute and manage infrastructure modifications with comprehensive documentation, testing, and implementation.

• Conduct server security hardening, vulnerability evaluations, and respond to security incidents.

• Track system performance, capacity, and availability utilizing suitable monitoring tools.

• Work in conjunction with network, database, application, and other IT teams for infrastructure integration and troubleshooting.

• Engage in disaster recovery and business continuity strategy development and testing.

• Automate system administration tasks using PowerShell, Python, and relevant automation technologies.

• Develop and sustain technical documentation, covering system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting manuals.

• Stay updated on current technologies and trends in Windows Server administration, security, and operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in Server Administration, emphasizing the management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments.

• At least 3 years of experience with enterprise virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere, VMware vCenter, and Red Hat OpenStack, focusing on deployment, administration, performance optimization, and operational support.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in scripting and automation, demonstrating proficiency in PowerShell and Python for system administration, process automation, monitoring, and operational efficiency initiatives.

• Strong grasp of networking concepts and infrastructure services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and network troubleshooting within enterprise settings.

• Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices, covering firewall management, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), vulnerability assessment, patch management, and compliance with security standards.

• Experience in supporting and managing both modern and legacy Windows Server platforms.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving server, virtualization, and network-related challenges.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively within cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance as needed.

• Experience in 24/7 enterprise production environments, supporting critical business applications and infrastructure while adhering to operational and change management protocols.

• Must be willing to participate in 24x7 rotational support shifts: Morning 5AM-2PM PHT, Mid 12PM-9PM PHT, or Night 8PM-5AM PHT.

• Relevant Microsoft certifications in Windows Server Administration, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, or Hybrid Infrastructure Management are preferred.

• Certifications in VMware, Red Hat, networking, security, and ITIL are seen as advantageous.
