This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Fulfill contractual obligations in line with customer expectations and daily site operations.
• Work on the electrical and mechanical systems utilized in GE wind turbine generators.
• Conduct maintenance, repairs, or part replacements to rectify malfunctions.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines.
• Support all facets of site operations as directed by the manager with limited supervision.
• Perform diagnostic electrical assessments.
• Record all work performed using computer-based service reporting methods.
• Collaborate with and respond to GE’s remote operations center as necessary.
• Travel to and provide assistance at other sites as required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completion of a Wind Certificate Program/Associate's Degree in Energy, or a minimum of 2 years of electrical work experience.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and be on-call as needed by the site.
• Willingness to provide assistance at other locations and travel as required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Capable of handling repetitive weights of approximately 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet daily.
• Comply with specified manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs, including necessary gear.
• Proficient in understanding electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
• Willing and able to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful passing of a drug screen, if applicable.
• Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics discipline from an accredited institution.
• Preferred: Technical Certification in Wind Energy or in the Electrical/Electronic field.
• Preferred: Experience with wind turbines.
• Preferred: Background in electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems.
• Preferred: Experience utilizing hydraulic power tools.
• Preferred: Familiarity with heavy equipment for facility maintenance, including knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
