Wind Hub Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Fulfill contractual obligations in accordance with customer specifications in collaboration with site and hub leadership.

• Conduct electrical and mechanical tasks on equipment utilized in GE wind turbine generators.

• Maintain, repair, or replace components to rectify malfunctions.

• Diagnose intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines.

• Assist in all aspects of site operations as instructed by management with minimal oversight.

• Adhere to all safety regulations.

• Execute diagnostic electrical assessments.

• Record all tasks using computer-based service reporting systems.

• Collaborate with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary.

• Travel locally within the Texas hub 10.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completion of a Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience.

• Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.

• Basic computer proficiency.

• Valid driver's license.

• Capability to handle repetitive weights of up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet on a daily basis.

• Must meet specified manufacturer weight limits, not exceeding 300 lbs., including necessary gear.

• Willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.

• Ability to prioritize tasks based on contractual obligations.

• Initiative to work independently without direct supervision.

• Flexibility to accommodate rotating shifts and be on-call as per site requirements.

• Capability to work occasional overnight shifts as required by hub needs.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, where applicable.
