Wind Hub Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Fulfill contractual obligations in line with customer needs and daily site and hub operations.

• Maintain, repair, or replace components to rectify malfunctions.

• Diagnose intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable pitch and variable speed turbines.

• Assist in all facets of site operations as instructed by the manager with minimal supervision.

• Adhere to all safety protocols.

• Conduct diagnostic electrical assessments.

• Record all work utilizing computer-based service reporting systems.

• Collaborate with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when required.

• Execute electrical and mechanical tasks on equipment utilized in GE wind turbine generators.

• Travel locally within the Texas hub 10.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 1+ years of experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completion of a Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, or 2 years of experience in electrical work.

• Successful completion of a Technical Knowledge Assessment.

• Basic computer proficiency.

• Valid driver’s license that must be maintained.

• Capability to manage repetitive weights of 50 lbs.

• Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet on a daily basis.

• Must comply with specified manufacturer weight restrictions not exceeding 300 lbs., including required equipment.

• Willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.

• Ability to prioritize tasks based on contract obligations.

• Initiative to work independently without direct supervision.

• Flexibility to work rotating shift schedules and be on-call as needed.

• Occasional overnight work may be necessary.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
