Web Developer – ColdFusion, CFML

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance sophisticated web-based applications.

• Create and manage applications using ColdFusion/CFML and relevant web technologies.

• Integrate front-end web applications with Microsoft SQL Server databases.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and testable code.

• Develop and adjust SQL queries and stored procedures that support web applications.

• Conduct testing of application modifications for functionality, accuracy, reliability, and performance.

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to application and database integration.

• Oversee the implementation and deployment of new and updated web applications.

• Address problems arising from changes in the VA IT environment.

• Identify and suggest improvements that enhance navigation, usability, and overall application functionality.

• Collaborate effectively with the Data Modeler, fellow developers, VA technical staff, and HSR/ORD stakeholders.

• Respond swiftly to production issues, alerts, and urgent technical requests.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive application and technical documentation.

• Clarify technical issues and proposed solutions to non-technical stakeholders.

• Assist with ad hoc projects and special technical requirements as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–5 years of experience in SQL database administration and programming.

• Proven experience in web application development and maintenance.

• Familiarity with integrating web applications with relational databases.

• Experience in crafting SQL queries and stored procedures.

• Proficient in testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and maintaining production applications.

• Knowledge of secure web-development practices, including prevention and remediation of cross-site scripting.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical issues to non-technical personnel.

• Highly preferred: Practical development experience with ColdFusion/CFML.

• Highly preferred: Skills in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, XML, SQL, and AJAX.

• Highly preferred: Experience in ColdFusion Server administration.

• Highly preferred: Familiarity with Dreamweaver or other integrated development environments (IDEs).

• Highly preferred: Experience with PL/SQL/SQL Server, including queries and stored procedures.

• Highly preferred: Previous experience supporting VA/VHA or federal healthcare applications.
