Water Process Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop evaluations for water quality that assess source water quality, the efficiency of treatment processes, and the quality of water in distribution systems.

• Plan and execute bench and pilot tests to assess water treatment methodologies.

• Create experiments and systems to analyze treatment impacts on water quality and refine full-scale design specifications.

• Conduct engineering design calculations and desktop assessments related to water treatment processes and various scenarios.

• Carry out calculations for chemical dosing and storage, determine pump sizes, and select monitoring equipment for processes.

• Perform engineering evaluations of flood mitigation project submissions.

• Review and validate flood damage assessments, calculations, and engineering designs.

• Execute benefit-cost analyses.

• Offer permitting and compliance support for plant rerating, treatment modifications, upgrades, and performance demonstrations.

• Draft documents, formulate responses for regulatory agencies, and collaborate with utilities to pinpoint deficiencies and ensure compliance.

• Complete technical writing and create presentation materials for technical groups, clients, and water industry conferences.

• Travel within the country up to 25% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related field.

• Possession of Professional Engineering (PE) Licensure.

• Demonstrated experience with water, wastewater, and stormwater utility projects.

• Proficiency in water process planning, modeling, condition assessment, and design.

• Familiarity with regulatory experimental design.

• Competence in using AutoCAD.

• Proficiency in GIS.

• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.

• Capability in system and experimental design for pilot testing.

• Experience with RTW4 Modeling.

• Familiarity with BIOWIN.

• Proficiency in Dupont WAVE.

• Experience with FDEP Oculus.

• Knowledge of Power BI.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%.

• Telecommuting is allowed from anywhere within the United States.
