VP, Quality

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee the quality function throughout Stord's fulfillment network.

• Manage systems, standards, and operational mechanisms for ensuring inventory accuracy, adherence to processes, and fulfillment quality.

• Take ownership of inventory health, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, adjustment governance, and reducing inventory variance.

• Create metrics and reporting for inventory health at the network level.

• Ensure process adherence in inbound, receiving, putaway, picking, packing, sorting, and outbound operations.

• Define essential quality controls and implement audit mechanisms to detect process drift.

• Collaborate with Operations, Product, Engineering, and Data teams to eliminate systemic defects.

• Maintain accuracy in lot, expiration dates, and inventory attributes.

• Set controls for FIFO, FEFO, lot traceability, recalls, quarantines, and regulatory inventory requirements.

• Guarantee that operational processes meet necessary customer, regulatory, and contractual quality standards.

• Foster root-cause analysis and corrective-action protocols throughout the fulfillment network.

• Implement standardized improvements across locations and contribute to the technology roadmap.

• Build and lead Stord's Quality and Inventory Control organization across the network.

• Establish accountability between the Quality and Operations teams.

• Cultivate site and regional quality leaders.

• Act as the executive escalation point for inventory integrity, regulatory compliance, and risks related to fulfillment quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in fulfillment quality, inventory control, operational excellence, distribution, or supply chain operations, with considerable leadership experience.

• Proven experience in leading quality or inventory control in a multi-site fulfillment or distribution network.

• Background in a scaled 3PL, retail, e-commerce fulfillment network, food distribution company, or similarly complex physical operation.

• Extensive knowledge of inventory control, WMS-driven processes, cycle counting, reconciliation, lot control, and inventory accuracy.

• Familiarity with inbound, putaway, picking, packing, sorting, and outbound processes.

• Experience in developing quality systems using data, audits, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and measurable defect reduction.

• Ability to challenge Operations leadership when execution fails to meet required standards.

• Experience in environments where quality and compliance cannot be compromised for throughput or cost.

• Background in food, grocery, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or any setting with strict lot, expiration, traceability, or regulatory requirements is preferred.

• Capacity to operate strategically at the executive level while also engaging on the warehouse floor and addressing inventory discrepancies through a WMS.
