VP of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.

📋 Description

• Take charge of HavocAI's financial planning activities, which encompass annual and quarterly budgeting, long-term planning, cash flow forecasting, and monthly performance reporting.

• Formulate and implement financial strategies that address cash management, liquidity, capital allocation, and investment decisions.

• Promote financial discipline, transparency, and data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to assess strategic initiatives, investments, commercial prospects, and significant business decisions.

• Create financial models, forecasts, scenarios, and analyses that support the company's strategic direction.

• Recognize financial and operational risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for leadership's consideration.

• Set up reporting mechanisms for financial performance, operational metrics, and organizational KPIs.

• Conduct monthly and quarterly performance reviews, examining actual results against plans and analyzing key drivers and variances.

• Convert complex financial and operational data into actionable insights for senior leadership.

• Collaborate with company leaders to define financial targets, assess performance, and enhance accountability.

• Propel and refine company-wide KPIs.

• Work alongside the CFO on investor relations and progressively assume ownership of this function.

• Create investor communications materials and proactively address potential investor inquiries.

• Assist with financing and capital planning initiatives.

• Build and manage relationships with external financial partners, including lenders.

• Oversee the development of scalable finance systems, processes, reporting, and operational rhythms.

• Lead finance transformation initiatives while identifying automation and AI possibilities.

• Collaborate with Accounting and finance teams to integrate reporting, planning, forecasting, and decision-making processes.

• Lead and nurture the Finance team; recruit, coach, develop, and retain finance talent.

• Establish scalable structures, processes, and operational practices as HavocAI expands.

• Foster accountability and cultivate a culture of high performance, ownership, precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance, including more than 5 years in a leadership role.

• Proven success in leading finance functions within a high-growth technology or similarly complex organization.

• In-depth knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial modeling.

• Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to link financial performance to underlying operational drivers.

• Exceptional capability to translate intricate financial information into engaging, executive-level insights and recommendations.

• Demonstrated experience in building and developing high-performing finance teams.

• Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across the organization.

• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, incomplete information, and significant organizational growth.

• Excellent judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

• An entrepreneurial, hands-on leadership style with a readiness to navigate between strategic initiatives and detailed execution.

• Only US Citizens can be hired due to specific industry and government contracts.

• Must be eligible for a US security clearance.

• Desirable experience includes high-growth startups or technology companies, hardware or manufacturing sectors, inventory management, cost accounting, supply chain finance, SaaS or software business models, investor relations, capital raising, FP&A and financial reporting systems, as well as automation or AI in finance workflows.
