VP Data Architecture – Integration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold the enterprise information architecture, canonical data model, and primary systems of record.

• Direct enterprise data governance initiatives, including metadata management, data lineage, master data management, business glossary creation, stewardship, and data quality programs.

• Oversee Enterprise Integration Services encompassing EDI, file-based interfaces, client data extracts, regulatory submissions, APIs, trading partner onboarding, and third-party integrations.

• Establish enterprise integration standards and reusable data exchange frameworks.

• Ensure data architecture effectively supports billing, claims processing, provider reimbursement, client reporting, analytics, and AI functionalities.

• Collaborate with the Analytics team to provide reliable metadata, ensure semantic consistency, manage data lineage, and deliver governed data products.

• Provide executive oversight for the availability, monitoring, SLA management, disaster recovery, and operational excellence of enterprise data services.

• Act as the enterprise authority on information architecture and engage in architecture governance for significant initiatives.

• Create and sustain a shared semantic/metrics layer in partnership with Analytics.

• Report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

• Work in collaboration with teams from Product, Engineering, Analytics, Operations, Finance, Commercial, and Compliance.

• Build a trusted enterprise information foundation that supports transactions, financial processes, reporting, regulatory compliance, partner connectivity, analytics, and AI.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience leading enterprise data architecture, integration, or enterprise information management.

• At least 5 years in a senior technology leadership role.

• Strong preference for candidates with healthcare payer experience.

• Proven track record in leading enterprise architecture, governance, integration, and platform organizations.

• Knowledge of TOGAF, DAMA-DMBOK, or similar architecture and governance frameworks.

• Experience with cloud data and integration technologies, particularly within AWS.

• Expertise in enterprise information architecture and canonical data modeling.

• Familiarity with cloud-native data platforms, data warehouses, data lakes, and operational data stores.

• Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards such as HIPAA X12, HL7, and FHIR.

• Proficiency in API-first, event-driven, batch, and file-based integration architectures.

• Experience in Master Data Management, metadata management, data catalogs, lineage, and governance.

• Knowledge of AI-ready architecture, including semantic models, vector-ready data, knowledge graphs, and retrieval architectures.

• Understanding of security, privacy, HIPAA compliance, encryption, masking, and access controls.

• Skills in analytics engineering, transformation frameworks, pipeline orchestration, data-quality testing, and observability.
