Visiting Professor, Cybersecurity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and deliver an approved DeVry University syllabus that aligns with terminal course objectives.

• Organize, prepare, revise, and update course materials as necessary.

• Utilize online technologies and course-related software, which includes websites, email, and online discussions.

• Teach courses and programs in compliance with DeVry University standards.

• Implement teaching techniques to meet course and program objectives effectively.

• Exhibit effective oral and written communication skills.

• Establish course expectations, objectives, assignment and examination schedules, and evaluation criteria.

• Ensure that examinations are in line with course terminal objectives.

• Prepare and grade examinations in a consistent and fair manner.

• Provide timely feedback to students on their performance.

• Integrate responsible AI technologies into classroom teaching and learning processes.

• Identify, assess, and manage appropriate and inappropriate student utilization of AI tools.

• Complete additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

• A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in cybersecurity, information assurance, network security, digital forensics, or related computing disciplines.

• Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be submitted with the application.

• The degree must be conferred by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or an equivalent internationally accredited institution.

• 3–5 years of practical professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, security operations, threat analysis, or digital risk management.

• Proven experience with network security, system hardening, vulnerability management, incident response, and security monitoring.

• Possession of industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials relevant to cybersecurity or information security operations.

• Subject matter expertise in cybersecurity principles and defensive security practices.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex security concepts to a diverse audience.

• Understanding of cyber risk management, regulatory and compliance considerations, ethical security practices, and responsible use of security technologies.

• Commitment to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.

• Additional requirements may apply based on state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards.

• Preferred: industry certifications in cybersecurity operations, ethical hacking, incident response, or security management.

• Preferred: experience with security frameworks, security operations center practices, and threat intelligence processes.

• Preferred: knowledge of defensive and proactive cybersecurity techniques, including penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, digital forensics, and incident response.

• Preferred: experience in DevSecOps or secure development.

• Preferred: familiarity with accreditation processes, outcomes assessment, curriculum alignment, and continuous improvement.

• Preferred: membership or engagement with professional cybersecurity organizations.

• Preferred: experience in utilizing cybersecurity laboratories, simulation platforms, capture-the-flag environments, and real-world security scenarios in post-secondary instruction.

• Preferred: 2–5 years of experience in post-secondary teaching.
