Virtual Tax Specialist – Seasonal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Respond to clients' inquiries about tax matters mainly via chat and authorized digital support tools.

• Assist clients in using H&R Block’s online tax preparation resources.

• Offer clear and supportive guidance to do-it-yourself tax clients.

• Investigate federal and state tax regulations to provide precise and up-to-date information.

• Utilize proprietary tools and resources to assist clients effectively.

• Collaborate with colleagues to share insights, resolve issues, and enhance the client experience.

• Refer complex tax situations to advanced support teams when necessary.

• Handle multiple conversations, systems, and knowledge resources in a fast-paced virtual setting.

• Welcome new challenges and opportunities during the tax season.

• Proven tax knowledge through experience in tax preparation, education, or support roles.

• Experience in customer service within a professional setting.

• Successful completion of the required H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessments.

• A quiet, dedicated workspace with a reliable internet connection.

• Ability to work from a designated secure remote location that meets company security and privacy standards.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Effective research and problem-solving skills.

• Capability to manage multiple applications and technology tools concurrently.

• Ability to work autonomously in a virtual environment while staying engaged with the team.

• Preferred: Experience in preparing individual income tax returns.

• Preferred: Background in contact centers, chat support, or digital service environments.

• Preferred: Experience in a retail tax office, tax firm, financial services company, or a tax-related support position.

• Preferred: Credentials such as Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, attorney, AFSP participant, or other tax qualifications.
