This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Establish strong relationships with U.S. expatriate clients by delivering knowledgeable, responsive, and customized service.
• Perform thorough tax interviews and pinpoint pertinent U.S. and international tax considerations.
• Provide clients with tax information, filing requirements, next steps, and tailored recommendations.
• Address client inquiries and concerns while escalating complex or unresolved issues as needed.
• Evaluate client information and international tax matters to accurately prepare U.S. federal and state income tax returns.
• Adhere to quality standards and internal protocols for tax return preparation, review, escalation, and referral.
• Investigate unfamiliar or intricate tax questions using internal resources and expert guidance.
• Collaborate with Client Relationship Professionals, Tax Managers, and Expat team members throughout the tax preparation and filing process.
• Assist clients with electronic filing or other submission methods for required tax returns and documentation.
• Complete paid training and engage in ongoing education.
• Develop and maintain expertise in U.S. expatriate taxation as well as relevant foreign tax and financial systems.
• Stay updated on tax developments, technical guidance, and professional resources.
• Contribute to client retention, referrals, acquisition initiatives, and the expansion of the Expat client base.
• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience through a combination of education and related work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• Circular 230 credentials (Enrolled Agent, CPA, or Attorney) or a commitment to obtain within one year of employment.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Proficiency in conveying tax and financial advice clearly and effectively to the public, including during public speaking engagements.
• Capacity to learn swiftly and ask pertinent questions.
• Strong time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize, and manage time in a dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with Outlook and Microsoft Suite applications, which may include virtual tools.
• Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate proficiently in multiple languages (preferred).
• Previous experience preparing taxes for U.S. expatriates (preferred).
