Virtual Elementary Math Tutor, K-6

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +37 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver structured math lessons and supplementary practice materials to K–6 students.

• Offer targeted assistance to students aiming to enhance skills and understanding at or below their grade level.

• Conduct regular virtual tutoring sessions on a consistent weekly basis.

• Establish supportive professional relationships with students.

• Create an encouraging and motivating learning atmosphere, providing constructive feedback.

• Engage in the application and onboarding process.

• May be required to complete a five-minute recorded tutoring demonstration.

• May need to attend a 15-minute virtual meeting with a member of the BookNook team.

• Finalize onboarding tasks, including payment account setup, FBI background check, and tutor certification.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as a classroom teacher, EL/ESL/ELL instructor, tutor, coach, or in a similar role supporting students.

• Preferred online teaching experience with a college degree.

• Capability to foster meaningful professional relationships with students.

• Ability to cultivate an encouraging and motivating educational setting with constructive student feedback.

• Access to a computer (laptop or desktop) and a webcam.

• A clean, distraction-free workspace.

• Reliable high-speed internet service with a minimum speed of 20 Mbps.

• Must reside and provide tutoring from one of the designated eligible states or Washington, DC.

• All tutoring sessions must occur from within the 50 United States or Washington, DC.

• Availability for at least one hour, Monday through Thursday, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM ET.

• Commitment to attending at least 80% of scheduled sessions.
