This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India, +5 more countries.
• Receive unedited footage and project outlines from UNESCO.
• Create edited video content suitable for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and extended digital formats.
• Organize sequences in alignment with scripts, storyboards, creative briefs, or directives from UNESCO.
• Suggest pacing, cuts, and visual components.
• Produce reels, clips, teaser videos, interview snippets, event summaries, campaign videos, and edited interviews.
• Implement colour correction and grading, audio editing and synchronization, sound mixing, subtitling, captioning, lower-thirds, motion graphics, voice-overs, and music integration.
• Add and synchronize subtitles and captions.
• Ensure that visual content adheres to UNESCO Graphic Standards and the Logo Toolkit, incorporating the UNESCO video outro where necessary.
• Integrate UNESCO's gender strategy and ensure gender-balanced representation.
• Comply with international copyright laws and secure appropriate licensing.
• Submit initial edits in MP4 format for review and incorporate feedback and revisions.
• Provide final ready-to-publish MP4 files utilizing H.264 and the appropriate resolution for platforms, along with editable source/master files and linked assets.
• Adhere to established deadlines and promptly communicate any anticipated delays.
• Maintain consistent communication with UNESCO through email and online meetings.
• Offer remote post-production and editing services on an on-call basis.
• Individual consultant (non-staff) or registered agency/firm.
• Candidates can be located anywhere in South Asia; must specify country of residence/base and regions/countries available for assignments.
• A university degree and/or professional training in film production, video editing, broadcast media, digital communications, or related disciplines.
• A demonstrable portfolio may be accepted in place of formal qualifications.
• Minimum of three (3) years of proven professional experience in video editing, specifically in social media content production.
• Experience in communications within the institutional or development sector is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar software.
• Experience in creating video content for Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn, including reels, shorts, and platform-optimized formats.
• Comprehensive understanding of post-production workflows, colour grading, audio mixing, and multi-format exporting.
• Familiarity with Adobe After Effects or equivalent software is beneficial.
• Experience with subtitle and closed-caption integration.
• Capability to manage and archive extensive media file libraries.
• Ability to work independently and effectively under tight deadlines and revision cycles.
• Familiarity with UNESCO or UN branding standards is a plus.
• Use of AI-generated content or AI video/audio enhancement tools is prohibited unless explicitly authorized by UNESCO.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory.
• Knowledge of local languages relevant to the duty station is an advantage.
• At least three recent portfolio samples from the last three years, accompanied by brief project descriptions and roles.
• Capability to provide daily professional rates in local currency.
• On-call roster assignments with no guaranteed work.
• Flexible remote work arrangements.
