Vice President, Quality and Commissioning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute the complete quality and commissioning strategy from initial design through to substantial completion and tenant handover.

• Lead the recruitment and growth of in-house QCx professionals, establishing a scalable team of Quality Directors and Commissioning Managers.

• Select third-party Commissioning Agents, overseeing the definition of RFP scope, commercial negotiations, and performance audits of partners.

• Act as the main technical stakeholder during tenant lease negotiations and technical work letters.

• Ensure alignment of commissioning scripts, quality benchmarks, and handover requirements with tenant uptime expectations.

• Create and refine global quality standards, technical specifications, and procedural tools.

• Assist Design and Pre-Construction teams with Design-for-Testability initiatives.

• Serve as the primary QCx partner for technical teams of hyperscale clients.

• Offer transparent, real-time visibility into commissioning progress and risk management.

• Facilitate lessons-learned feedback loops to enhance future project specifications.

• Establish standards for MEP quality and life-safety systems.

• Identify macro-level risks and formulate contingency plans to safeguard the critical path.


⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with ASHRAE commissioning levels and electrical/mechanical redundancy topologies.

• Proven track record in recruiting, retaining, and mentoring top-tier technical professionals in a highly competitive mission-critical labor market.

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex RFPs for technical services and negotiate high-value partner contracts.

• Capability to interpret and influence intricate tenant lease agreements, particularly concerning technical handover milestones and performance penalties.

• Extensive technical knowledge in the delivery and commissioning of data centers or high-complexity industrial assets valued at $500M or more.

• Expertise in BIM 360, Procore, or specialized Cx platforms.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

• Over 15 years in QCx Leadership or MEP Management, including at least 5 years specifically in Data Center or Mission-Critical environments.

• Proven success in building and leading multi-disciplinary technical teams across diverse geographic areas.

• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale commissioning programs for Tier-III or Tier-IV data centers achieving up to 5-9s of reliability.

• Direct experience collaborating with Legal, Design, and Tenant Engineering teams.

• Relevant professional certifications such as PE, CCP, or PMP.

• Executive experience in overseeing regional or multi-project initiatives.

• Remote position preferred, with a strong preference for candidates in Dallas, Tulsa, or Kansas City.
