Vice President of Operations – Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead and enhance the Operations organization encompassing planning, sourcing, logistics, inventory, quality, and fulfillment.

• Create a high-performing, scalable operations team equipped with clear accountability, robust processes, and a focus on continuous improvement.

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to evaluate operational health, service levels, and business performance.

• Manage integrated supply and demand planning while developing forecasting models in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product teams.

• Facilitate monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to align demand forecasts with production capacity and financial objectives.

• Supervise global supply chain operations from manufacturing through to customer delivery.

• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, transportation, customs, freight optimization, and warehouse operations.

• Enhance speed, efficiency, resilience, and cost-effectiveness throughout the supply chain.

• Ensure operational excellence across fulfillment partners and distribution operations.

• Manage inventory strategy across Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), retail, and wholesale channels.

• Optimize inventory health, turnover rates, safety stock, allocation, and working capital.

• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiate commercial agreements with manufacturing partners, suppliers, freight providers, and third-party logistics providers.

• Cultivate vendor relationships that foster improvements in quality, innovation, and cost management.

• Identify and qualify secondary suppliers and manufacturing partners to mitigate risks and enhance resilience.

• Oversee product quality standards throughout manufacturing and fulfillment processes.

• Collaborate with Product Development and Regulatory teams to ensure product quality and compliance.

• Develop a long-term operational roadmap along with scalable systems, processes, and infrastructure.

• Lead capacity planning, operational scenario planning, business continuity planning, and supply chain risk management.

• Drive change management, process standardization, data governance, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement for successful ERP deployment and adoption.

• Implement cost-saving initiatives and assess sourcing, freight, inventory, packaging, and process enhancements.

• Collaborate with Finance on operational performance and margin enhancement.

• Act as a strategic partner to Product Development, Brand Marketing, Sales, Retail, Finance, Customer Experience, and Executive Leadership.

• Align product launches, inventory availability, retail expansion, and operational capabilities.

• Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and operational expertise.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of progressive operations leadership experience, particularly in consumer products, beauty, CPG, or other high-growth omnichannel sectors.

• Proven track record of leading operations in a high SKU-count environment, managing diverse product assortments and complex inventory across various channels.

• Demonstrated success in scaling operations during periods of rapid growth.

• Extensive expertise in demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, sourcing, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, and supply chain optimization.

• Strong experience in leading Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

• History of successfully negotiating vendor and manufacturing agreements.

• Experience in developing secondary sourcing strategies and establishing resilient global supply chains.

• Proven capability to identify and implement strategic cost-saving initiatives that enhance profitability.

• Strong financial acumen with experience in managing inventory investments, margins, and operational budgets.

• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to convert data into strategic decisions.

• Experience in building, developing, and leading high-performing teams.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and executive stakeholder management skills.

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
