This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and establish Vantage's global media relations function.
• Create and implement a proactive, narrative-focused global media strategy that aligns with corporate growth, reputation, public affairs, and business goals.
• Shift media engagement from a reactive response approach to proactive narrative formulation and thought leadership.
• Set annual media goals, strategic priorities, and measurable results.
• Build a scalable global media relations framework, encompassing organizational design, operating model, governance, and agency management.
• Act as Vantage's senior spokesperson for media relations and provide counsel to executive leadership.
• Assist in corporate announcements, transactions, milestones, events, and issues management.
• Cultivate relationships with journalists, editors, producers, analysts, influencers, and local media.
• Develop educational programs for reporters on data centers, digital infrastructure, energy consumption, sustainability, economic impact, and community benefits.
• Create and promote stories that highlight the advantages of data centers for communities, economies, customers, and society.
• Position Vantage and its executives as thought leaders in AI infrastructure, sustainability, energy innovation, economic development, workforce development, and public policy.
• Oversee media strategy and response planning for business challenges, crises, and reputation concerns.
• Monitor and address misinformation, disinformation, and inaccuracies in the media.
• Collaborate with Public Policy, Government Affairs, Sustainability, Legal, Operations, regional marketing, and executive leadership teams.
• Secure media opportunities such as interviews, profiles, editorial board meetings, podcasts, and speaking engagements.
• Develop strategies for executive media engagement and media training programs.
• Strengthen media connections in local communities where Vantage operates and develops data centers.
• Establish media monitoring and intelligence programs to track coverage, sentiment, share of voice, message penetration, spokesperson visibility, journalist engagement, and reputation trends.
• Build, lead, and mentor a global media relations team that is expected to grow to around four professionals within 18 months.
• Manage relationships with agencies and external partners.
• Support special projects and represent Vantage externally with media, associations, industry groups, and stakeholders.
• A bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Political Science, Marketing, or a related field is required.
• Over 15 years of progressive experience in media relations, corporate communications, public affairs, or reputation management.
• At least 7 years of leadership experience managing teams and complex communication programs.
• Proven track record of developing and leading proactive media relations initiatives within large, global organizations.
• Established connections with national business, trade, technology, and policy media are highly preferred.
• Experience in complex, highly visible, highly regulated, politically sensitive, or scrutinized industries is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in influencing public narratives and managing high-profile issues.
• Exceptional skills in media relations, storytelling, executive communications, and strategic planning.
• In-depth knowledge of crisis communications, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience operating across global markets and within matrixed organizations.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to advise and influence senior leaders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with digital media monitoring and analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of the data center, digital infrastructure, technology, energy, telecommunications, industrial, real estate, or related sectors is preferred.
• Proficiency in Associated Press (AP) Style is strongly desired.
• Travel may be required up to 25%, potentially increasing as the business evolves.
