Vice President – Clinical Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement the organization’s clinical strategy to enhance quality, outcomes, and operational efficiency.

• Provide leadership and supervision to Clinical Directors at both regional and program levels.

• Collaborate with the SVP and executive leadership regarding clinical operations, program development, risk management, and emerging trends.

• Oversee the execution and fidelity monitoring of evidence-based practices and treatment models, including ASAM and trauma-informed care.

• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and accreditation requirements, including OMHSAS, DDAP, CARF, and state accrediting entities.

• Assist programs with audits, licensing renewals, and regulatory corrective actions.

• Review, authorize, and uphold clinical policies, protocols, and procedures.

• Monitor clinical metrics such as engagement, length of stay, outcomes, and readmission rates.

• Spearhead performance improvement initiatives and establish clinical performance indicators, peer review processes, and corrective action plans.

• Assess program performance utilizing data-driven methodologies.

• Mentor and cultivate clinical leaders and interdisciplinary teams.

• Facilitate training, competency assessments, and credentialing processes.

• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Business Development, and Payer Relations teams.

• Assist in payer negotiations and Value-Based Purchasing initiatives.

• Ensure the effective and ethical use of clinical resources while prioritizing client safety.

• Identify trends in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and integrated care.

• Lead the rollout of new clinical programs and technological solutions.

• Represent the organization at conferences, regulatory meetings, and external stakeholder collaborations.

• Maintain confidentiality and complete all necessary training.

• Travel to programs and meetings as required.

• Provide direct oversight, coaching, leadership development, and performance management for clinical leadership positions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s Degree in a behavioral health-related field is required (e.g., Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing).

• Licensure is required: LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) OR LCSW-C (Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Clinical).

• 7–10 years of progressive clinical leadership experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder environments.

• Proven experience with regulatory bodies such as OMHSAS, DDAP, CARF, and other pertinent licensing authorities.

• Experience in leading multi-site or multi-state clinical operations is preferred.

• Strong preference for experience with payer relations, outcomes measurement, and performance improvement initiatives.

• Advanced clinical knowledge related to behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment modalities.

• Proficient in analyzing complex data to facilitate informed, strategic decision-making.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands effectively.

• Ability to lead change, inspire teams, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

• Capability to navigate crisis situations and exercise sound judgment.

• Must maintain strict confidentiality and comply with ethical and professional standards.

• Must provide personal transportation.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
