Vice President, AI Innovation – Partnerships

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Oversee Centene's function for AI innovation and strategic technology partnerships

• Deliver enterprise-level technical leadership for high-impact AI use cases

• Design partner platforms and vendor integrations to align with Centene's requirements

• Convert AI opportunities into technical strategies, reference architectures, prototypes, and scalable solutions

• Collaborate with leaders in business, data, engineering, security, governance, procurement, legal, and enterprise architecture

• Establish the technical strategy and integration specifications for vendor AI tools

• Develop joint vendor roadmaps, prioritize co-development efforts, and extend platform capabilities

• Assess emerging vendor functionalities through due diligence, architecture evaluations, prototypes, and competitive assessments

• Propel vendor tools toward open, composable, portable, interoperable, observable, and extensible models

• Define the utilization of Centene's AI control plane, agentic framework, AI Gateway, enterprise context layer, trusted data products, and engineering platforms

• Set technical quality benchmarks for prototypes and production solutions

• Transform platform deficiencies into prioritized roadmap items

• Transition innovative initiatives into sustainable products with ownership, support frameworks, adoption strategies, performance metrics, and value assessment

• Counsel senior leadership on AI trends, architecture, vendor interdependencies, investments, and model/platform capabilities

• Represent Centene in key technology partnerships and external forums

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree

• 12+ years of relevant experience, including substantial leadership roles in artificial intelligence, machine learning, enterprise architecture, technology strategy, product innovation, software engineering, cloud platforms, data and analytics, or related fields

• Equivalent experience gained through relevant knowledge, duties, scope, and skills reflective of this position may substitute for the degree and experience requirements

• 10+ years of experience leading enterprise technology initiatives, AI/ML solutions, software engineering, cloud platforms, data and analytics, enterprise architecture, or technology strategy, including executive-level leadership roles

• Proven experience in translating complex business opportunities into scalable technical solutions via AI, automation, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies is preferred

• Background in healthcare, managed care, or other highly regulated sectors, including the implementation of secure, compliant, and scalable AI solutions is preferred
