Vice President, Accounting & Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise all accounting functions, encompassing GL, AP/AR, payroll support, and month-end closing activities.

• Facilitate revenue recognition processes, especially for contracts involving multiple elements.

• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements.

• Spearhead the creation of monthly management reporting packages and provide a weekly 13-week cash flow forecast.

• Oversee the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.

• Manage compliance with federal, state, local, LLC, and C-corp tax regulations while collaborating with external tax advisors.

• Direct the development and upkeep of internal controls and accounting policies.

• Drive the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting throughout the organization.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Sales, and Sales Operations on financial procedures.

• Recognize and implement improvements in financial systems and workflows.

• Lead accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls while reporting directly to the CFO.

• Influence the final phases of the Sage accounting software implementation.

• Guide the transformation of the monthly closing process and associated reporting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in accounting.

• More than 5 years in a controller position.

• CPA or MBA is preferred.

• Experience in G/L design and the implementation of accounting software.

• Familiarity with Sage-Intacct and Salesforce integrations.

• Experience in a professional services business model, including time tracking, capacity, and utilization.

• Background in M&A (buy-sell-integration).

• Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards.

• Proven track record in managing month-end/year-end closing processes and producing precise financial statements.

• Experience overseeing internal controls, external auditors, tax advisors, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

• Proficient in modern accounting systems and ERP software (Sage-Intacct).

• Competence in utilizing data analytics and AI.

• Experience in leading annual budgeting and cash flow management.

• Ability to identify financial discrepancies, protect company assets, and reduce fiscal risk.

• Experience working alongside CFOs and executive leadership.
