Vertical Engineering Lead, Technology Lab Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the implementation of JLL's Technology Labs standard Operations & Maintenance playbook across various accounts.

• Roll out documentation specific to technology labs, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidance materials, and training resources to designated sites.

• Empower site teams to demonstrate compliance with JCAP standards.

• Create standardized project plans for the deployment at account and site levels.

• Lead deployment engagements at the account level and evaluate site operating models in relation to established standards.

• Identify operational deficiencies and promote adoption through well-structured rollout plans.

• Assist in the execution of the Technology Labs assurance program at the account level.

• Prepare sites for assurance reviews and ensure timely responsiveness to identified findings.

• Provide feedback from the field to support ongoing revisions of standards.

• Oversee incident management for lab environments, including the investigation of near-misses and incidents, and lead root cause analysis efforts.

• Build, lead, and nurture a team of deployment professionals.

• Offer coaching, prioritization guidance, and quality oversight.

• Determine prioritization and resource allocation for deployments across accounts.

• Manage costs and resource structures for deployment in collaboration with Account Finance and COE Finance.

• Enhance financial and operational KPIs and reporting frameworks.

• Collaborate with engineering subject matter experts in Data Center & Critical Environment Management, Technology account teams, and divisional leadership.

• Facilitate training on the playbook, JCAP criteria, and any updates.

• Oversee the execution of change management at the account level.

• Act as the primary technical lead for client interactions regarding lab space performance and reliability.

• Coordinate efforts with Engineering Operations, Quality & Compliance, and Health, Safety, Security & Environment teams.

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to technology lab maintenance and equipment testing protocols on-site.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience of 15+ years in critical environments, technology labs, engineering, or leadership roles in operations/deployment.

• Proven history of deploying and operationalizing standards or SOPs in field settings.

• Experience in executing or supporting assurance, audit, compliance, or standards implementation programs at both account and site levels.

• Capacity to lead the rollout of standards across multiple accounts while balancing global standards with local site constraints and variations.

• Practical experience in technology lab environments, environmental controls, or similar critical infrastructure.

• Ability to coordinate across functions within large, matrixed organizations.

• Experience in managing or leading teams of engineers or technicians, including prioritizing workloads and fostering performance development.

• Strong capabilities in program and project management.

• Solid technical and engineering knowledge of critical environments and lab systems.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

• Strong technical foundation in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, cleanroom, and life-safety disciplines.

• Familiarity with applying regulatory compliance frameworks and industry standards relevant to technology labs or critical facilities.

• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Advanced Trades license is preferred.

• Experience in the technology sector, with knowledge of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) frameworks and failure mode analysis is preferred.

• Preference for candidates with experience managing distributed technical teams across multiple accounts or regions.
