Vaccines Field Medical Director, non-MD

📋 Description

• Deliver therapeutic-area and product expertise for vaccines to external medical stakeholders and initiatives within a designated U.S. territory.

• Develop and implement an independent Medical strategy and engage with assigned external medical stakeholders.

• Keep abreast of relevant therapeutic areas, disease states, and Pfizer products, communicating this knowledge effectively.

• Act as a liaison for Medical Information and insights from external medical stakeholders.

• Contribute to the strategy for Medical educational content and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.

• Collaborate with headquarters Medical, Medical Information, Field Medical, HEOR, and other Pfizer team members.

• Present scientific information through live and virtual formats, written communications, and telephonic or virtual discussions.

• Provide education to external medical stakeholders on disease states, guideline-based care, patient care gaps, and population health.

• Share approved medical information regarding Pfizer products and relevant vaccine topics.

• Communicate real-world data, pharmacoeconomic analyses, outcomes evaluations, and medical presentations.

• Execute projects, collaborations, strategic medical patient care initiatives, and non-interventional studies in a compliant manner.

• Take the lead as Medical contact for assigned stakeholders by developing and implementing Medical account plans.

• Engage with Quality Improvement Organizations, Advocacy Groups, Coalitions, and medical/healthcare associations.

• Work with internal colleagues to comprehend outcomes of interest and data-analysis requirements.

• Identify priority segments of external medical stakeholders and pursue medical engagement opportunities.

• Address unsolicited medical inquiries with accurate, scientifically supported information.

• Lead advisory boards under managerial oversight.

• Manage inbound queries from external medical stakeholders through established triage processes.

• Collaborate with Vaccines R&D and Global Product Development to identify clinical trial sites, including those serving under-represented populations.

• Assist in the Investigator Sponsored Research process.

• Enhance research and therapeutic-area expertise through congress data and disease-state literature.

• Provide leadership for assets and territories.

• Communicate effectively with local Patient Advocacy Groups and offer insights into patient organization structures and needs.

• Participate in Medical, therapeutic-area, and asset cross-functional committees.

• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs within clinical/professional associations and societies.

• Mentor onboarding partners, advisory board leads, and study leads.

• Engage in special projects as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a health science is required.

• A PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree is highly preferred.

• Relevant experience is required: PharmD/PhD with 5+ years; MBA/MSc with 7+ years; BA/BSc with 8+ years.

• Experience in hospital therapies, outcomes, and/or epidemiology is advantageous.

• Clinical, formulary, and/or other management experience is preferred.

• Experience in Managed Care, Payer, Organized Customer, pharmaceutical industry, and/or Quality Improvement is valuable.

• Subject matter expertise in vaccines is essential.

• Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflicts constructively.

• Capability to handle a significant volume of projects in a remote setting, prioritize effectively, implement successfully, and exercise sound judgment.

• Proficiency in working within a matrixed, multidisciplinary team.

• Agility in adapting to organizational changes.

• Strong clinical and technical skills.

• Ability to quickly adopt and utilize new digital technologies and resources.

• Familiarity with internal/external SOPs, rules, and regulations regarding Pfizer/external medical stakeholder interactions is preferred.

• Previous Field Medical experience is preferred.

• Experience with health information technology in the U.S. is preferred.

• Experience in optimizing/customizing top EHR platforms and developing EHR clinical solutions is preferred.

• Understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and emerging healthcare trends is a plus.

• Ability to operate a Pfizer company car and to travel by air as needed.

• Proximity to an airline hub city is necessary.

• Willingness to travel 40–50% of the time.

• A valid U.S. driver’s license and a driving record compliant with company standards are required.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. by any employer.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is required.

• U.S. work visa sponsorship is not currently available nor will it be in the future.
