Vaccines Field Medical Director, non-MD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Offer expertise in therapeutic areas and products related to vaccines to external medical stakeholders and initiatives within a designated territory.

• Strategically plan and implement independent Medical strategies while engaging with assigned external medical stakeholders.

• Stay updated on pertinent therapeutic areas, disease states, and Pfizer products.

• Share medical information and gather insights from external stakeholders to communicate with Pfizer.

• Contribute to the strategy for Medical educational content and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.

• Collaborate and communicate with colleagues from headquarters Medical, Medical Information, and Field Medical teams.

• Deliver scientific presentations and communications through in-person and virtual formats, written correspondence, and telephone or virtual discussions.

• Educate external medical stakeholders about patient care deficiencies, disease states, and guideline-driven care.

• Present approved medical content regarding Pfizer products and relevant topics.

• Articulate clinical and economic impacts utilizing real-world data, pharmacoeconomic analyses, outcomes evaluations, and medical presentations.

• Provide scientifically robust information through pharmacoeconomic models, educational programs, non-interventional studies, and collaborations.

• Conduct specific projects, collaborations, strategic medical patient care initiatives, and non-interventional studies in compliance with regulations.

• Lead designated external medical stakeholder accounts by developing and executing Medical account plans.

• Engage Quality Improvement Organizations, Advocacy Groups, Coalitions, and healthcare associations.

• Work with internal Pfizer teams on data analysis needs and outcomes of interest.

• Identify and connect with priority segments of external medical stakeholders.

• Address unsolicited medical inquiries in alignment with Pfizer guidelines and policies.

• Facilitate advisory boards with oversight from management.

• Manage incoming stakeholder inquiries using the established triage process.

• Collaborate with Vaccines Research & Development and Global Product Development to pinpoint potential clinical trial sites, particularly those serving underrepresented patient populations.

• Assist in the Investigator Sponsored Research process.

• Maintain expertise in vaccine therapeutic areas, including congress data and literature on disease states.

• Provide leadership in asset management and territory oversight.

• Communicate with local Patient Advocacy Groups and provide insights regarding patient organizations and community needs.

• Participate in cross-functional committees related to Medical, therapeutic areas, and asset management.

• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs leadership in clinical and professional associations.

• Mentor new partners, advisory board leads, and study leads.

• Engage in special projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a health science is required.

• A PharmD, PhD, or equivalent terminal doctoral degree is highly preferred.

• PharmD/PhD with over 5 years of experience, MBA/MSc with over 7 years of experience, or BA/BSc with over 8 years of experience.

• Experience in hospital therapies, outcomes, and/or epidemiology is advantageous.

• Clinical, formulary, and/or other management experience is desirable.

• Experience in Managed Care, Payer, Organized Customer, pharmaceutical industry, and/or Quality Improvement is preferred.

• Subject matter expertise in vaccines is essential.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills are required.

• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are necessary.

• Ability to manage a significant volume of projects remotely and prioritize effectively.

• Experience working within a matrixed, multidisciplinary team is needed.

• Agility in adapting to organizational change is vital.

• Proficiency in clinical and technical skills is required.

• Ability to swiftly adopt and utilize digital technology while recording medical interactions.

• Familiarity with internal/external SOPs, regulations, and guidelines regarding Pfizer/external medical stakeholder interactions is preferred.

• Previous experience in Field Medical is advantageous.

• Experience in applying health information technology within the U.S. is preferred.

• Experience optimizing/customizing major EHR platforms, including developing EHR clinical solutions is preferred.

• Understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and emerging healthcare trends is advantageous.

• Must be able to operate a Pfizer company car and frequently travel by airplane.

• Willingness to travel 40–50% of the time is necessary.

• A valid U.S. driver’s license and a compliant driving record are required.

• Any DUI/DWI or similar impaired driving citations within the last 7 years will disqualify the candidate.

• Must possess authorization to work in the U.S. with any employer.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is required.
