Vaccines Field Medical Director, MD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Offer expertise in therapeutic areas and products related to vaccines to external medical stakeholders and initiatives within a designated Northern Florida territory.

• Develop and implement independent Medical strategies and engage with assigned external medical stakeholders.

• Stay informed about pertinent therapeutic areas, disease states, and Pfizer medications.

• Act as a bridge for Medical Information and insights from external medical stakeholders.

• Contribute to the strategy for Medical educational content and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.

• Convey scientific information through live and virtual presentations, written communications, phone calls, and virtual discussions.

• Instruct external medical stakeholders about patient care gaps, disease states, and guideline-based treatment.

• Present approved medical information and objective scientific data regarding Pfizer medications and relevant topics.

• Discuss clinical and economic implications using real-world data, pharmacoeconomic analyses, outcomes evaluations, and medical presentations.

• Implement projects, collaborations, strategic medical patient care initiatives, and non-interventional studies in a compliant manner.

• Oversee assigned external medical stakeholder accounts and create and execute Medical account plans.

• Engage with Quality Improvement Organizations, Advocacy Groups, Coalitions, and medical/healthcare associations.

• Work collaboratively with internal Pfizer colleagues and HEOR on outcomes of interest and data analysis requirements.

• Identify key external medical stakeholder segments and provide accurate, truthful responses to unsolicited medical inquiries.

• Lead advisory boards with managerial oversight.

• Address incoming queries through the established triage process.

• Identify potential sites for Pfizer-sponsored clinical trials, particularly those serving underrepresented patient populations.

• Assist in the Investigator Sponsored Research process.

• Enhance vaccine and therapeutic-area knowledge through congress data and literature on disease states.

• Provide asset leadership and communicate study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation.

• Manage the assigned territory and maintain communication with local Patient Advocacy Groups.

• Participate in Medical, therapeutic-area, and asset cross-functional committees.

• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs with clinical and professional associations and societies.

• Mentor new partners, advisory board leads, and study leads.

• Engage in special projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO Degree is mandatory.

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required.

• Experience in hospital therapies, outcomes, and/or epidemiology is advantageous.

• Clinical, formulary, and/or other management experience is desired.

• Experience in Managed Care, Payer, Organized Customer, the pharmaceutical industry, and/or Quality Improvement is beneficial.

• Recognized subject matter expertise in vaccines among internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to manage conflicts constructively.

• Proficient in prioritizing and managing a substantial volume of projects in a remote setting.

• Ability to work within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team.

• Capability to lead and manage change effectively.

• Possess clinical and technical skills.

• Quick to adopt and utilize new digital technologies.

• Familiarity with internal/external SOPs, rules, and regulations regarding Pfizer/external medical stakeholder interactions is preferred.

• Previous Field Medical experience is preferred.

• Experience with health information technology utilized in the U.S. is preferred.

• Familiarity with optimization/customization of leading EHR platforms and development of EHR clinical solutions is preferred.

• Understanding of the U.S. healthcare business landscape and emerging healthcare trends is preferred.

• Must be able to operate a Pfizer company car and frequently travel by airplane.

• Must reside near an airline hub city.

• Willingness to travel 40–50% of the time.

• Valid U.S. driver’s license and a driving record that meets company standards.

• No DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citations within the last 7 years.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is required.
