Vaccines Field Medical Director, MD

📋 Description

• Deliver expertise in therapeutic areas and products to external medical stakeholders and initiatives within the designated territory.

• Develop and implement an independent Medical strategy, ensuring engagement with the assigned external medical stakeholders.

• Keep abreast of pertinent therapeutic areas, disease states, and Pfizer medications.

• Act as a bridge for Medical Information and insights from external medical stakeholders.

• Contribute to the strategy for Medical educational content and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.

• Present scientific information through live and virtual presentations, written communications, and conversations via telephone or virtual platforms.

• Educate external medical stakeholders regarding patient care gaps, disease states, and guideline-based care practices.

• Deliver approved medical content related to Pfizer medicines and pertinent therapeutic topics.

• Articulate clinical and economic impacts using real-world data, pharmacoeconomic analyses, outcomes evaluations, and medical presentations.

• Supply scientifically robust medical information utilizing pharmacoeconomic models, outcomes tools, educational programs, HOPEs, non-interventional studies, and collaborative efforts.

• Execute projects, collaborations, strategic medical patient care initiatives, and non-interventional studies in compliance with regulations.

• Assume the role of Medical lead for designated stakeholders, creating and implementing Medical account plans.

• Engage with Quality Improvement Organizations, Advocacy Groups, Coalitions, and medical/healthcare associations.

• Collaborate with Pfizer colleagues, including Key Account Managers, Account Directors, PHI, Field Medical, Headquarters Medical, and HEOR.

• Identify priority segments among external medical stakeholders and pursue medical engagement.

• Address unsolicited medical inquiries in accordance with Pfizer guidelines and procedures.

• Lead advisory boards under managerial oversight.

• Manage inbound queries through the established triage process.

• Collaborate with Vaccines Research & Development and Global Product Development to identify clinical trial sites, especially those serving under-represented patient populations.

• Provide Medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research process.

• Enhance research and therapeutic area knowledge through congress data and disease-state literature.

• Offer asset and territory leadership.

• Communicate concepts related to study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation.

• Support Patient Advocacy Groups and provide insights into patient organization structures, capabilities, and needs.

• Participate in Medical, therapeutic area, and asset cross-functional committees.

• Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs in clinical/professional associations and societies.

• Mentor onboarding partners, advisory board participants, and study leads.

• Engage in special projects as required.

• Operate a Pfizer company vehicle, travel regularly, and maintain travel commitments of 40–50% of the time.


⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO Degree is mandatory.

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required.

• Recognized subject matter expertise in vaccines among internal and external stakeholders.

• Exceptional oral and written communication capabilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflicts constructively.

• Proven ability to oversee a substantial number of projects in a remote setting, prioritize tasks effectively, and exhibit sound judgment.

• Capability to work within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team environment.

• Proficiency in leading and adapting to organizational changes.

• Strong clinical and technical skills.

• Quick adaptability to and utilization of new digital technologies and recording medical interactions.

• Familiarity with internal/external SOPs, rules, and regulations concerning Pfizer/external medical stakeholder interactions is preferred.

• Prior Field Medical experience is preferred.

• Experience with health information technology applications used in the U.S. is preferred.

• Background in optimizing/customizing leading EHR platforms, including the development of EHR clinical solutions, is preferred.

• Understanding of the complex business landscape of the U.S. healthcare system and emerging healthcare trends is preferred.

• A valid U.S. driver's license and a driving record compliant with company standards are necessary.

• Any DUI/DWI or similar impaired driving citation within the last 7 years will disqualify the candidate.

• Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. from any employer.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is required.
