Unit Head – Regulations, Governance and Training

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Master Regulatory Tracker.

• Serve as the Bank’s liaison for HSA/CBUAE traffic.

• Create executive summaries, gap analyses, regulatory communications, and submissions to CBUAE.

• Monitor and supervise the implementation of regulatory guidelines.

• Update and maintain regulatory frameworks.

• Prepare presentations for the BRC and Board, coordinating with the Board Secretariat.

• Compile Monthly Exception Reports.

• Conduct Business Impact Analysis/Business Continuity Management and perform annual divisional systems access reviews.

• Suggest controls to address non-compliance issues.

• Execute Risk Control Self-Assessment tests and maintain records in Prism for risk and control.

• Facilitate both Internal and External Audits, managing submissions for CBUAE audits.

• Address and respond to IFASC audit observations in PRISM.

• Maintain the Charity Manual and ensure compliant charity distributions.

• Ensure Zakat calculations adhere to ISSC guidelines, obtain ISSC approval, and inform the Company Secretary.

• Assist in the preparation for ISSC meetings and follow up on action items.

• Oversee training, research, and development in IFASC, aligning with CBUAE requirements and best practices in Islamic banking.

• Conduct learning needs assessments and implement training plans for Islamic banking and Shari’ah.

• Report on training progress across the Bank.

• Update training records in the Learning Management System and provide training MIS upon request.

• Collaborate with business groups, Audit, Compliance, group entities, CBUAE, ISSC, departmental leaders, management, and division heads.


⛳️ Requirements

• 10-12 years of experience in Governance, Operations, Audit, or Compliance, ideally within an Islamic Bank or Window, particularly in regulator-facing roles.

• Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or a professional qualification in Business or Accounting.

• Familiarity with AAOIFI Shari’ah Standards.

• AAOIFI CSAA certification is preferable.

• Significant exposure to Shari’ah principles through studies, courses, or extensive on-the-job experience.

• Excellent communication and writing abilities.

• Proficient in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint.
