NERC Compliance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design and execute NERC compliance strategies to ensure adherence to regulations, mitigate risks, and support the reliability of the power grid.

• Provide training for employees and contractors on NERC standards, requirements, and compliance procedures.

• Carry out compliance audits, self-assessments, and internal reviews; identify instances of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.

• Create and maintain compliance documentation, including policies, procedures, standards, and control processes.

• Report compliance-related issues, incidents, violations, and self-reports to NERC and other regulatory authorities.

• Conduct market and operational data analysis for event assessments, data requests, and compliance evaluations.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on remediation strategies, risk mitigation, corrective actions, and initiatives for performance enhancement.

• Keep abreast of changes to NERC standards and regulations, updating compliance programs and documentation accordingly.

• Foster relationships with NERC and other regulatory agencies; address inquiries, requests, and audits.

• Continuously enhance compliance management processes and procedures.

• Contribute to Spark Power's strategic initiatives and continuous improvement goals within the Operational Excellence program.

• Advocate for a culture centered on safety, discipline, transparency, and accountability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Educational qualifications in the energy sector, holding both Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience within the energy industry, focusing on contract management, government regulations and policies, as well as research and analytics.

• Strong familiarity with operational systems, including monitoring platforms, analytical tools, and supporting applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio).

• In-depth knowledge of the Bulk Electric System, along with FERC, NERC, and Regional Entity standards, rules, and policies.

• Capability to influence cross-functional leadership at various sites.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficiency in building trust and respect across all organizational levels.

• Practical, hands-on approach to addressing challenges or issues.
