Underground Public Utility Locator Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Identify and precisely mark underground fiber optic utilities.

• Analyze and understand utility maps, plans, and construction drawings.

• Operate locating devices in a safe and efficient manner.

• Complete necessary documentation and daily reporting.

• Engage professionally with customers, contractors, and team members.

• Adhere to company safety protocols and industry regulations.

• Maintain the company's equipment and vehicles.

• Assist with significant fiber optic projects throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth region.

• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1+ years of experience in utility locating is required.

• Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving history.

• High school diploma or GED is necessary.

• Capability to pass a physical examination and pre-employment drug screening.

• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Ability to traverse uneven surfaces, including dirt, gravel, grass, and roadways.

• Openness to overnight travel as needed.

• Availability for overtime and weekend work.

• Participation in an on-call rotation is required.

• Previous construction experience is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail is essential.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to read and interpret utility maps, plans, and construction drawings.

• Proficiency in operating locating equipment safely and effectively.
