Underground Public Utility Locator Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Identify and accurately designate underground fiber optic utilities.

• Interpret and analyze utility maps, plans, and construction drawings.

• Safely and efficiently operate locating equipment.

• Complete necessary documentation and daily reporting.

• Engage professionally with customers, contractors, and colleagues.

• Adhere to all company safety protocols and industry regulations.

• Maintain company tools and vehicles in good condition.

• Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

• Assist with major fiber optic projects across the Austin region.

• Participate in an on-call rotation and be available for overtime, weekends, and overnight travel as required by business demands.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1 year of utility locating experience is required.

• Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

• High school diploma or GED is necessary.

• Capability to pass a physical examination and pre-employment drug test.

• Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions.

• Proficiency in navigating uneven surfaces such as dirt, gravel, grass, and roadways.

• Willingness to travel overnight when necessary.

• Availability to work overtime and on weekends.

• Required participation in an on-call rotation.

• Previous construction experience is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail is preferred.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills are preferred.
