UI/UX Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Transform business objectives and user requirements into user journeys, workflows, and interaction designs.

• Detect usability challenges and product friction through feedback, usability testing, analytics, and collaboration with internal teams.

• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and designs that are ready for production.

• Design comprehensive experiences that include loading, empty, error, success, and recovery states.

• Create polished interfaces that function seamlessly across various devices and screen sizes.

• Build and sustain reusable design patterns and UI components.

• Document component behavior, usage instructions, and accessibility standards.

• Construct responsive interfaces and reusable components utilizing modern front-end technologies.

• Convert approved designs into production-ready code.

• Integrate interfaces with APIs in collaboration with application and backend engineers.

• Write maintainable code and engage in pull-request evaluations.

• Validate implementations against designs, acceptance criteria, and the intended user experience.

• Troubleshoot usability, browser compatibility, accessibility, and front-end performance challenges.

• Test user journeys across supported devices and browsers.

• Implement automated checks for critical interactions and reusable components.

• Conduct usability reviews prior to release and assess post-launch feedback.

• Collaborate with product leadership, backend, platform, mobile, product, and engineering teams.

• Define scope, priorities, success metrics, and acceptance criteria.

• Present designs and implementations while incorporating feedback.

• Maintain designs, code, documentation, and supporting materials within company-controlled systems.

• Deliver at least one product enhancement from design to production within the first 90 days.

• Establish documented reusable components along with repeatable design review, usability validation, and implementation acceptance processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A portfolio that showcases product design decisions and launched digital experiences.

• Experience guiding a feature from user problem identification through design, implementation, launch, and iteration.

• Strong grasp of interaction design and visual design principles.

• Proficiency in Figma or similar design and prototyping tools.

• Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or similar.

• Experience in creating responsive interfaces and reusable component systems.

• Working knowledge of accessibility standards and practical usability-testing techniques.

• Familiarity with Git, version control, code reviews, and shared documentation.

• Ability to clearly communicate design and technical trade-offs.

• Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating on work.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within defined scope and timelines.

• Comfortable using AI coding assistants and agentic development tools.

• Ability to review and validate AI-generated code.

• Ability to identify usability, accessibility, security, and maintainability issues in AI-assisted implementations.

• Ability to safeguard proprietary code, credentials, customer information, and sensitive data when utilizing AI tools.
