Software Engineer – Web

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Work closely with client teams to identify, define, and deliver comprehensive full-stack applications, taking ownership of challenges from initial concept to production.

• Design, develop, and implement scalable web applications throughout the stack using React, Next.js, TypeScript, contemporary back-end frameworks, and cloud solutions.

• Identify, prototype, and launch AI-driven features, including LLM integration, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation.

• Apply evaluation techniques, establish guardrails, and maintain awareness of cost and latency for AI features.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance delivery speed while ensuring code quality remains high.

• Implement infrastructure-as-code practices and automated deployment processes.

• Create and sustain automated testing frameworks, including evaluation harnesses for AI functionalities.

• Conduct code reviews, promote best practices, and uphold high engineering standards.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to both teams and clients.

• Manage delivery expectations with client stakeholders, balancing the aspects of speed, quality, and scope.

• Monitor the evolving landscape of AI and web technologies, evaluating where tools and models can provide significant advantages.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in taking an AI feature from prototype to production, which includes monitoring, evaluation, and iterative improvements once real users are engaged (preferred).

• Proficient in building and managing scalable frontend architectures such as microfrontends, monorepos, and shared internal libraries (preferred).

• Familiarity with managing and evolving CI/CD pipelines and relevant DevOps tools (preferred).

• Experience in creating authentication mechanisms and securing applications (preferred).

• Knowledge of tools for monitoring, logging, and securing applications, including AI observability (preferred).

• Experience in architecting complex software systems (preferred).

• Skilled in fine-tuning, distilling, or customizing models, with insights on when such actions are justified compared to prompting or retrieval (preferred).

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and operating within short feedback cycles.

• Capable and willing to lead communication efforts with project stakeholders.

• Able to articulate technical constraints and the capabilities and limitations of AI to both technical and non-technical audiences.
