This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Act as the instructional and administrative leader of VPA Florida
• Create, implement, and realize the school’s academic objectives, student advancement, and daily operations
• Strive for student success, enhance school culture, and meet School Report Card/Accountability goals
• Facilitate the implementation of a standards-based curriculum
• Review weekly lesson plans and carry out teacher walkthroughs and debriefs
• Take responsibility for academic and social-emotional outcomes for students
• Foster a professional environment focused on growth and data-driven instructional practices
• Develop or adjust cultural programming and school-wide PBIS initiatives
• Organize summer educational programs as well as before-and-after/supplemental initiatives
• Ensure effective implementation of instructional programs across various grade levels
• Monitor teacher performance metrics and ensure accountability
• Coordinate audits and guarantee compliance with state and sponsor/authorizer regulations
• Collaborate with IT to coordinate school technology efforts and recommend enhancements
• Work together with Student Services on instructional models and student support systems
• Revise parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks
• Articulate the school’s mission and vision while seeking parent/family feedback
• Build strong professional relationships with parents through ongoing communication and engagement
• Manage special projects, including peer mentoring, service learning, and community engagement
• Conduct home visits as required
• Address parent inquiries
• Manage student discipline and enforce conduct and suspension/expulsion procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• A Master's degree in Education or a related field is mandatory; an advanced degree in education or educational leadership is highly preferred
• A current valid Principal license is required
• Experience in turnaround situations is necessary
• A minimum of three years’ experience in an instructional leadership role within an online school
• At least two years of successful school administration or instructional leadership experience in an online setting
• Familiarity with State Standards and Common Core Standards is essential
• Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks is required
• Proven experience in coaching teachers to enhance their instructional planning, practice, and classroom culture
• Capability to meet applicable educational standards
• Ability to thrive under pressure and effectively prioritize and accomplish tasks within deadlines consistently
• Understanding and managing confidential information appropriately
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
