Trencher Operator Trainee

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Ensure operations are conducted with maximum efficiency in line with equipment capabilities, task plans, procedures, and relevant requirements.

• Adhere to the directives of the Trencher Operator and Shift Supervisor.

• Assist the Trencher Operator with mobilization, demobilization, and project preparations.

• Operate the trencher following the manufacturers’ manuals and guidelines.

• Ensure that planned maintenance is carried out and documented in collaboration with the Shift Supervisor.

• Perform basic equipment repairs and replacements alongside the Shift Supervisor.

• Conduct pre-operational checks before commencing work.

• Ensure equipment is used in accordance with relevant procedures.

• Maintain daily logs for maintenance, faults, and improvements.

• Notify the Shift Supervisor if equipment or processes are not performing as expected.

• Actively uphold DEME QHSE policies and values.

• Ensure adherence to the Project HSE Plan.

• Carry out operations safely and with technical proficiency.

• Take part in HIRA meetings.

• Promote safe working practices and maintain a high level of safety awareness.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have completed a technical education in Mechanics or Electronics (Bachelor’s or MBO 3-4 level).

• You possess knowledge of Electricity.

• Ideally, you have some experience in the maritime or offshore sector.

• You are communicative and adept at problem-solving.

• You demonstrate a hands-on, no-nonsense approach.

• You are fluent in both spoken and written English.

• You are comfortable being away from home for a duration of 5 weeks.
